Bent Tree Plantation just had a community yard sale that was open to the general public and didn't have any issues with security or safety. We do this annually.

Meadowlands has 2 per year.  No real issues other than people parking on both sides of the street and sometimes not to the curb where people can travel between the vehicles.  We are asking folks this year to park on one side and will see if it works.

Sunset Ridge has one annually. Scheduled whatever date the Methodist Church across the street has their very well attended annual craft fair. It is advertised on social media and in local papers. Participants put a balloon on mailbox if participating. No safety or security issues noted. Often many neighbors in a row, so together, tables set in the driveway, not in the garage per se. Very successful as garage sales go.

St. James does not allow garage sales, public or private. We do allow public estate sales and moving sales. Everything being sold must be inside the home or garage, not in the driveway or yard. Being gated, the person in charge of the sale lets security know the times and dates of the sale. Directions to the address are provided to security to be handed out to visitors, along with instructions to park on one side of the street.

Sandpiper Bay Community Wide Yard Sales, single day events, are allowed at a predetermined site, e.g., Residents’ Center on a regular basis, typically annually. Sellers at these events are open to all community residents in good standing subject to capacity constraints. The final list of sellers will then be determined via registration date. These events will be coordinated by community volunteers who will acquire necessary Sunset Beach permits, and manage staging, safety, and traffic control. Events may be advertised in local publications and media.
